AMF Optics, a precision manufacturer of optical components since 1974 is pleased to announce they have been acquired by Hyperion Development, LLC.
Hyperion specializes in custom lens assemblies for the cinema, projection, semiconductor industries and is considered one of the premier lens design/production companies in the US. Hyperion will bring it's design experience to the components team at AMF and add custom lens assemblies to the capabilities of AMF. Hyperion also plans to upgrade the optical manufacturing facility and invest in new test and assembly equipment.
AMF Optics is an ITAR registered company and produces a wide range of diamond turned or conventional optical components for many applications in medical, aerospace and defense, and homeland security. AMF will become the rapid prototype R&D center for Hyperion's numerous lens programs.
AMF owners Robert Lafreniere and Jeff Kenton will remain at the new Hyperion-AMF subsidiary in Woburn MA and the Hyperion East Coast office will co-locate in the same facility.
