Acquisition Expands Navitar’s Integrated Imaging Solutions Business

Rochester, NY – January 30th, 2017 – Navitar Canada, Inc. (Navitar), an innovative manufacturer of precision optical solutions, announced today the purchase of PixeLINK®, a leading developer of digital cameras for use in industrial, life science, and other advanced imaging applications. This acquisition allows Navitar, Inc to offer fully integrated end-to-end lens and camera imaging solutions to customers worldwide.

 Based in Ottawa, ON, Canada, PixeLINK manufactures, optimizes and integrates industrial cameras for machine vision applications and microscope cameras for life science and digital microscopy applications. Product offerings include CMOS and CCD sensors, coupled with state-of-the-art high speed digital technologies such as USB 3.0, FireWire (IEEE 1394), USB 2.0 and Gigabit Ethernet (GigE). PixeLINK’s latest camera models are equipped with the 12.3 MPixel Sony Pregius IMX253 (1.1”) and 8.9MPixel IMX255 (1”) sensors which support 4K Ultra HD video.

 Navitar plans to announce the acquisition of PixeLINK at Photonics West in San Francisco on January 31. In addition, are introducing a new high performance zoom lens series, the Resolv4K, with a live demonstration using a PixeLINK camera (IMX255 sensor).

 Rochester, New York – April 11, 2016Navitar Industries, LLC, an affiliated company of Navitar, Inc., announced today the purchase of Hyperion Development/AMF Optics has been completed.  With this acquisition, Navitar expands its product offerings, optical and mechanical design services, manufacturing capabilities and production capacity.

Hyperion Development/AMF Optics co-founders, Michael Thomas and Russ Hudyma, both graduates of the Institute of Optics at the University of Rochester, have joined the Navitar leadership team. Michael Thomas will now serve as President of the Navitar family of companies, and Russ Hudyma has been appointed Chief Technical Officer.

AMF provides high quality traditional diamond turned optical components and infrared lens assemblies. Specializing in mold insert polishing and high quality metal mirrors for the medical, R&D, and entertainment industries, AMF Optics, A Navitar Company, will continue to operate in Woburn and all personnel will be maintained.

Navitar Acquires Hyperion AMF Optics

Rochester, New York – February 17, 2016 – Navitar, Inc, a leading USA‐based manufacturer of precision optics and imaging system components, has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Hyperion Development, LLC, a leading design firm and manufacturer of custom optical assemblies and OEM solutions. The companies expect the deal to close by the end of the first quarter. Navitar owners, Jeremy and Julian Goldstein comment, “We are very excited to welcome everyone at Hyperion Development into the Navitar family. This transaction brings together two industry leaders and creates an optical design powerhouse. We will be operating out of four engineering, design, and production facilities located in San Ramon, CA, Woburn, MA, Denville, NJ and Rochester, NY.”

Hyperion Development has a history of designing innovative next generation Deep Ultraviolet (DUV) and Extreme Ultraviolet (EUV) semiconductor lithography systems. Their optical solutions range from ultraprecision microscope objectives, high volume electronic imaging lenses, cine prime lenses, mobile medical solutions, and infrared (IR) solutions for aerospace, defense, and photonics applications. Hyperion Development expanded in 2014 with the acquisition of AMF Optics and American Diamond Turning, LLC. The newly consolidated company, AMF Optics, LLC, is located in Woburn, MA. This state of the art, ITAR registered, ISO 9000 certified facility, will continue to provide high quality traditional diamond turned optical components and infrared lens assemblies. All personnel at each company will be maintained and current facilities will remain in place.

Michael Thomas, co‐founder of Hyperion, sees this merger as an opportunity to expand Hyperion’s production capabilities thus moving their client’s products to market faster.
